Musselburgh Asks Permission From BHA To Stage Trial Races Ahead Of Cheltenham Festival 2019
Several days prior to the Cheltenham Festival 2019, Musselburgh has asked special permission to hold their Cheltenham Trials Day. This is the most significant NH race on the East Lothian track.
Due to the climate and the recent equine influenza episode, this gathering was cancelled twice. It was already set last February 10th, with a record-breaking pot in excess of £165,000 for a single day. Nevertheless, the event didn't happen due to the British Horseracing Authority placing the races on break for almost a week.
Since the break has been concluded, everyone at Musselburgh is eager to host the Cheltenham Racing Trials once more after all of its postponements. Boss of the Racecourse Bill Farnsworth revealed that the British Horseracing Authority had shown support for this by guaranteeing to offer additional opportunities later on. But they're simply supplying additional fixtures to some cards at the moment.
Aside from that, Farnsworth announced that the BHA has permitted to stage the fixtures on February 23rd considering that the vaccinated runners will be permitted to participate. In case their requested substitute race will push through on February 22nd, Musselburgh is expected to give everything they got for the Cheltenham Festival Trials. Additionally, it is also an immense assistance for them since several races have already been lost by the northern region.
Farnsworth said the Trial Races is a major factor when it comes to the preparations for the Cheltenham Festival 2019 every single year which is attended by a huge number of participants.
